A multidisciplinary team of Yale scientists has received a $4-million federal grant to study the effectiveness of a new vaccine and monoclonal antibody shot designed to prevent respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in infants.

A research team led by Ambrose Wong, MD, MSEd, MHS, and Rebekah Heckmann, MD, MPH, MPA, from the Department of Emergency Medicine at Yale School of Medicine, has been approved for a $3.7 million R01 award by the National Institute of Mental Health to address the management of agitation symptoms during mental health crises.

The study, “Enhancing the Effects of Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation on Alcohol Cue Reactivity With Cognitive Strategies,” has been selected for a 2024-25 pilot project by the Center for the Translational Neuroscience of Alcoholism (CTNA). Vaughn Steele, PhD, assistant professor of psychiatry, is the principal investigator. Co-principal investigators are Hedy Kober, PhD, associate professor of psychiatry and psychology, and Godfrey Pearlson, MD, MA, professor of psychiatry and of neuroscience.
