Biography
Archana Shrestha is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Chronic Diseases Epidemiology at Yale School of Public Health. She is a PhD trained epidemiologist and researcher with excellent skills in implementation science, data analysis and research methodology in developing countries . She is interested in developing, testing, and implementing preventive interventions to reduce the impact of non-communicable disease epidemics in low-income countries. She has been involved in community based health program development, implementation, research and education in Nepal for last ten years. She conceived and am working as a co-PI in Dhulikhel Heart Study; a large population based longitudinal study on cardiovascular diseases in Nepal. She is also leading a translational research to prevent diabetes through dietary modification in worksites of Nepal; .and Co-Director of the NHLBI T32 training grant on translational research capacity building to address cardiovascular diseases in Nepal. She serves as a country director – Nepal for the North Pacific Global health Research Fellows Training in collaboration with the University of Washington.
